Bonita Dome, Joshua Tree

Lisa Starr is an artist and drum medicine, she purchased a land in Joshua Tree, California, USA not too far from the coast.

Lisa Starr decided to build a dome in accordance with an Iranian Architect Nader Khalili’s affordable and disaster resilient superadobe metholody.

This is my friend’s house in Pretoria. South Africa. The building was constructed using bricks, and the construction was executed by Quicksand Company in South Africa.

 

A Recycled Plastics Bottle Boat

Madiba and Nature, is a Cameroon based non-profit organisation. The organisation started with the creative use of transforming dump plastic bottles into boat.

The Handcrafted Geodesic Home

This handcrafted Geodesic structure is located just outside of San Francisco. It was built by a couple: Shelia Williamson and her husband using reclaimed wood. They spent over seven years to build this Geodesic structure. (Geodesic structure is a lightweight dome constructed of interlocking polygons, invented by R. Buckminster Fuller).

A Snail-Inspired El Caracol Retreat.

El Caracol retreat is a rustic-modern concrete dome shape, cut into half slanted with an all windows façade. It has the shape of a snail.

Green Bottle Vases by Klaas Kuiken

A Dutch designer Klaas Kuiken, transformed the everyday green glass bottles into an incredible vases.

He achieved this by wrapping wires around the bottles, he then heat them up and he inflated then into a fantastic sculptural shapes using an air compressor.

Plastic made Tower of Hope

In Spaza Art Garden, Troyevillie, Johannesburg South Africa, is a 20m high cellular Tower made from 7000 plastic recycled bottles. The project was inspired in 2013 by a street Artist r1 and his friend Issac, and it was officially opened in July 2016.

The renovated Chinese Siheyuans by Archstudio

Siheyuan is known as courtyard houses or often Chinese quadrangles. These Siheyuan system design is a historical type of residence that is commonly found throughout China.

In Chinese architecture, the Siheyuans is the most characteristic features. Han Wen-Qiang’s of successful ARCHSTUDIO, decided to take this Chinese cultural heritage of the Siheyuan to come up with his design the “Twisting Courtyard”.

The Whale bar

Right from the Azure waters emerges a Whale bar, this bar is located in a private resort: St Regis Maldives Vommuli Island. The design concept was from Wong Chiu of Wow/Warner Wong design a Singapore based Architects.

The Butterfly Pavilion, Sharjah

In Noor Island in the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirate; stands a beautiful golden florally outfitted Butterfly Pavilion.

This magnificent pavilion is one of the example of German Architectural office 3Deluxe’s Butterfly Pavilion.

Before the construction of the 100meter long fibre glass bridge well equipped with aluminium balustrade, the Noor Island was only accessible by boat. The bridge was installed by 3Deluxe to slow down visitors across the foot bridge and giving them the opportunity to reflect on the changing views of the island.

The most striking element in this pavilion is the floral façade, like a space frame. It is made up of 4,000 aluminium petals shimmer across the pavilion façade. This exoskeletal structure is voluminous form and it is designed and constructed to rise and fall in a graceful fashion.

The pavilion is 15 feet high with a steel skin that is finished with glazing. The 3Deluxe Butterfly Pavilion houses 500 rare tropical species, a shop and café, all in its own, artificial eco-system.

The 3 Deluxe Butterfly Pavilion was inspired the use of architectural elements, and modern technologies, which resulted in a meditative space.
