Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Studio Hive.

The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Studio Hive was design by GBBN Architects for Carnegie Library located in Pittsburgh.
   This project received the AIA ( American Institute Architects) award for small projects by US architects for the 13th edition of annual awards.


 The project is a teens library and they have new space to create, work together and learn with the library. This Studio Hive is a "room in room". The structure acts as a starting point for a new experience for the teens. the word "HIVE" is a structures that provides habitation, the space is used for multi-media and digital productions for teens to work.


the Studio Hive is made from wood and sound absorbent industrial felt, the Hive arouse curiosity and also encourages the teens to think beyond the box.
