According to Florian Heinzelmann of SHAU Architects, he explained that “with the use of this recycled buckets, it does not isolate but blocks direct sun, shades and transmit daylight in to the interior  to have daylight autonomy during the daytime, with no artificial light required.”

Florin Heinzelmann added that “the façade also enables cross ventilation, since we do not use air conditioning in the building”
Insulation is provided to the library space while light is diffused through the buildings first floor.
