nationwide initiative; its aim is to tackle illiteracy across Indonesia.
The first floor has the library, while beneath the first
floor is the communal area.
The buckets tub are open and closed, are also cleverly
arrange to create the zeros and one of the code spelt out in binary. A message is
written in Indonesia. This is the façade hidden secret. According to Florian Heinzelmann
of SHAU Architects, he explained that “with the use of this recycled buckets,
it does not isolate but blocks direct sun, shades and transmit daylight in to
the interior to have daylight autonomy
during the daytime, with no artificial light required.”
Florin Heinzelmann added that “the façade also enables
cross ventilation, since we do not use air conditioning in the building”
Insulation is provided to the library space while light
is diffused through the buildings first floor.
