A Snail-Inspired El Caracol Retreat.



El Caracol retreat is a rustic-modern concrete dome shape, cut into half slanted with an all windows façade. It has the shape of a snail. 




 It is located on eight acres of Mediterranean pine forest of Lleda, Argȯn, Spain. The building is owned and designed by Robert Collyer. The materials used for construction are steel, wood, concrete and glass. The house runs on solar energy. This retreat has two rivers for swimming, which one of the swimming pools is heated.

This structure is a storey building and can accommodate 8 people. The ground floor has a spacious kitchen, the bar, dinning, entrance hall, a pantry, the living space and a ground floor bathroom. V-shape steel supports the space demarcations. The kitchen on the ground floor has a floating counter top supported by steel.

While the upper floor has 3 bedrooms, which 2 of the bedrooms are en suite bathrooms. It has an outdoor space with an inbuilt BBQ area.
