A Dutch designer Klaas Kuiken, transformed the everyday
green glass bottles into an incredible vases.
He achieved this by wrapping wires around the bottles, he
then heat them up and he inflated then into a fantastic sculptural shapes using
an air compressor.
He got this inspiration of the bottle vases after he was
being captivated by the small distort details he noticed which is found after
he cut into the bottles and found out the thickness was different in most of
the bottles with these little irregularities, prompted him to turn the “DEFECT” into these unique sculptural shape bottles
vases.
So when the compressor blows air gently into the bottles,
the glass then begins to twist and protrude more on the thinner spot and less
where its thicker.
Klaas had conducted several experiments in which some of
the blown bottles resulted in explosions and cracked glass. After countless
experiments, Klaas finally achieved the right balance which resulted to this
lovely unique green bottle glass vase.
Klaas Kuiken bottle collection has 17 different models.
