In Taichung district, Taiwan is a Molecure Pharmacy,
designed by Nic Lee, Richard Kup and kate change of Waterfrom design; a
Taiwanese based design company.
The owner is a third generation pharmacist who wanted to
breathe new life into his family’s profession.
The name Molecure is split and re organised from words
like- “molecule” and “cure”. The Architects concept was drawn from the original
purpose of the pharmacy, and that is extracting molecules from nature
synthesize healing drugs which brought about the building name the “Green in
the Lab”, with the combination of conflicting qualities of “PRIMITIVE” with “TECHNOLOGY”
in a way new compounds are formed due to molecular bombardment.
The design concept was inspired by the two characteristics
of a molecule- “connectivity” and “aggregation” into the design.
The concept is used with the use of cement to stick
cobblestones on the two very high walls on the left and right side, a rough
texture expression gives people a feeling of being real.

In achieving the concept of double spiral structure a A
DNA strand: the Architects introduce a copper spiral staircase at the middle of
the first floor which goes up to the second floor. On the sides of the stair,
has countless triangular, laser-perforated holes, and casting shapes throughout
the stairs, allowing lights to mesmerise throughout the stairs.
The display racks are building in crisscrossing and
straight lines, on latitude and longitude shape, like it is repeated in the
expanding of the molecule. The display racks were built with following
materials; metal, lightweight glass and transparent, acrylics.
The drugs are displayed on it. The racks seem to disappear
from the space as it goes up. The colourful drugs act as paintings to colour
the walls.

It has a long wooden laboratory table, which rested on a base made from a hundred years old tree trunk. It’s also serve as a pharmacist interactive counter with customers. it also has an open dispensing area with an IPad embedded consulting service system interactive information aggregation function and innovative customer experience are created.
To enhance the concept of nature, the wooden laboratory
table, is stacked with solid wood, alongside with hanging green plants that
grows exceedingly, gives the pharmacy a green look.
